February Update PDF Print E-mail

I have been busy putting together and posting out the latest issue of ‘Think Of England’, the Campaign for an English Parliament’s newsletter.

I have also been promoting the forthcoming PO90 concert and rehearsing my own live support set. I am also making progress with putting together a live band to perform material drawn from the 5 Tim Hunter songs albums. I have now started rehearsing with a keyboard player,  but he isn't available for the 28th gig so I am playing on my own with backing tracks. The band will be called ‘Northern Soundscapes’. I am now looking for some other musicians. I hope to add a drummer/percussionist and multi instrumentalist (someone who can maybe play bass/guitar and maybe saxophone). If you are interested please get in touch.

I am also planning a rationalisation of websites over the next few months : Northernsoundscapes will become the Band website (and which will have details of all band members etc.) and Yorview will be the Tim Hunter personal site (for writing/music/commentary etc.). Northernsoundscapes will be beefed up a bit using Joomla.

I have commissioned some artwork to accompany some of the lyrics and to use in visual displays etc. at concerts. This artwork will feature in the band album lyric book. Here’s a taster: the artwork for ‘England With One Voice’.

Po90
Led by Otley keyboard player Andy Tillison, Po90 have been described as '..somewhere between thrash, punk, synth-rock and even funky-jazz with huge, vaulting soundscapes and massive production led by Mr Tillson’s keys and stun guitar lines.' Music-news.com. Andy also runs the highly successful progressive rock band , The Tangent.

Support is provided by myself. I haven't decided on a set list yet, but I may play from about 8 to 8.30ish. PO90 are coming on at 9pm. There should be time for me to do several songs.

By the way - please support this gig. Any event ultimately benefits Henshaws, which is a charity that offers practical support and services to people of all ages living with sight loss, learning difficulties and additional disabilities. Also the PA is supplied by the Orb Community Arts '..an exciting and innovative project that provides a supportive creative and educational space for vulnerable individuals.'
