July Update : Part One PDF Print E-mail
Loads of news:
Stop Press: have you seen the brilliant Yorview rock club write up this week (16/7/10) in the Harrogate Advertiser?
Firstly, we've finally broken the 1000 barrier for plays of 'Life In A Traffic Jam'. We're now rehearsing for the August 22nd support slot. It looks like we're outgrowing the support concept fast as we are hoping to have a full line up very soon.
I will announce this later but we have already had one rehearsal with a bass player and I am hoping to confirm the drummer/percussionist soon. I am looking at the viability of putting on a four piece support band (on August 22nd) but we’ll not be able to deploy a drummer yet due to the logistics and space limitations etc. Of course, we'll still deploy acoustic cut-down versions of the band for other support gigs. Support slots are essential and are a good way of getting your music across to a ready-made and often sympathetic audience.
However, the October 31st Tim Hunter gig (a Halloween Special) will hopefully be the first concert by the full 5 piece line up. It will be ‘Tim Hunter and friends’. I will do the first half of the show with a load of stuff played with backing tracks and then me and ‘the friends’ will be on for the second half.
Then, there is the Christmas special on December 12th which will be again the full band playing a much wider repertoire with possibly a new support artist.
Finally I have been in the studio recently with the legendary Dr Beyond (of SysnensyS fame) and the first results are available here. You can preview and download 'Cosmic Launderette' here. They may feature in one of next year's gigs. You have been warned.
